Speaker's Profile

Lorena Roth, LCSW, is the Senior Director for Mental Health and Wellness at Kaiser Permanente. She oversees strategic programs across all Kaiser Permanente markets aimed at improving outcomes and experience of care for KP’s members, particularly those related to the clinical operations of specialty mental health and addiction medicine. Her portfolio includes workstreams related to the use of feedback informed care in outpatient settings, suicide prevention, and workforce development, including professional identity and practice to support our frontline mental health clinicians. She also serves on KP’s national mental health care delivery leadership team.

As a clinician with more than 22 years of experience in mental health, she has focused her bilingual Spanish practice on children and families working within community mental health and healthcare settings, including hospital-based services. She joined The Permanente Medical Group in 2011 at the Walnut Creek Kaiser Permanente Medical Center as a Behavioral Health Manager and subsequently served as Director where she annually met quality, service and affordability goals. She has expertise in performance improvement and led the HOPE Depression Care Value Stream, which focused on improving outcomes for adults with depression using timely, evidence-based practices. Lorena earned her master's degree in social work from the University of Southern California.
