Speaker's Profile

Andy’s career in health care started when he joined Epic, implementing electronic medical records in large health systems across the country. After spending more nights in hotels instead of his own bed, Andy joined UnitedHealth Group (UHG) in 2015. At UHG, Andy worked in program management and consulting roles, using his experience and insights from his prior work with health systems to drive critical UHG initiatives such as population health solutions implementations, IPA network builds and total cost of care efforts. Transitioning to Optum Behavioral Health Solutions (OBHS) in 2019, Andy was employee number one on OBHS’s Provider Enablement team and now leads its value-based contracting development, implementation and operation.

Andy has a BA in Communications from the University of Dayton and a Healthcare MBA from the University of St. Thomas in Minnesota. Andy lives in St. Paul with his wife, Maggie, and three young kids, Finn (6), Hazel (4) and Jack (1).
