Nailah Harrell

About Me

Nailah Harrell is an associate director on the Health Technology team at the American Society for Addiction Medicine (ASAM) supporting the CONTINUUM suite of software products. She specializes in clinical support and integration planning for ASAM CONTINUUM adoption. She brings to her current role more than 20 years of experience in extramural research, technical assistance and training, and health information technology. Nailah’s content expertise is in the substance use and behavioral health fields specializing in the utilization of evidence-based, culturally specific prevention and intervention approaches. She has successful experience in the direction of NIDA and NIH funded novel research studies and Stage II randomized control trials (RCTs) focused on the public and behavioral health needs of underserved populations. Her current and past roles have involved federal proposal writing and leadership of SAMHSA and HRSA contract project management addressing women, children, and families, incarcerated and unhoused populations among others. Nailah’s clinical experience includes individual and group direct service provision within the integrated university mental health care setting. She has a passion for translational research and has several scientific publications, including first author of the Treatment Planning chapter in the ASAM Criteria textbook (4th Edition)
