About Me

Ashley Hunter attended The Blake School in Minneapolis, MN before graduating from Middlebury College in 1998 with a BA in Psychology. After graduation, Ashley spent 2 years as an Investment Banking analyst in the Consumer Products Group at Robertson Stephens in San Francisco, CA. Since 2000, Ashley has been very involved in the nonprofit world, specifically pursuing her passions for children’s health. She isthe Co-Founder and former Co-President of Ambassadors for Packard Children’sHospital which supports Lucile Packard Children’s hospital througheducational events, volunteering, and philanthropy. In addition, Ashley wasa member of the Joint Development Committee at Lucile PackardChildren’s Hospital for many years. In January of 2011, Ashley founded FitKids and still serves as the Executive Director today. Fit Kids is a non-profitorganization that provides physical activity, movement, and mindfulnessprograms at no cost to schools and after school organizations. In the 2024-2025 school year, Fit Kids will serve over 28,000 elementary and middleschool aged children at 175 partner locations throughout the US and inMexico. In February of 2022 Ashley was appointed by Governor GavinNewsom to sit on the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness and MentalWell-Being in California. Ashley is a passionate advocate of both physicaland mental health for children. Ashley has been served on various non-profit and for-profit boards over the years, including the San FranciscoZoological Society, Upper River Services, and she is currently member ofthe Board of Directors at Fit Kids.
