Speaker's Profile

Audrey Wang is a coder and mental health advocate studying Cognitive Science and Data Science at UC Berkeley. She believes in the power of technology to catalyze change and amplify youth voices in mental health. After seeing how cyberbullying and social media were taking a toll on her peers, she coded a platform named Affective Cookies, which inspires users to improve their mental health through inclusivity and empathy. To date, Affective Cookies has reached over 3500 users from 60 countries. She has also taught hundreds of Taiwanese elementary students about mental health in an effort to break down the walls of stigma in the Asian community. Her passion for bridging the gap in understanding youth social media use has led her to serve as a youth advisor to Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, GoodforMEdia, Common Sense, and the Technology & Adolescent Wellness (TAM) Program. This year, she has spoken at the White House Protecting Kids Online Event, the Aspen Health Strategy Group Conference, the Stanford Youth Online Health and Safety Conference, and the Gen Now Youth Town Hall with Senator Butler.Her innovative work has been recognized as The Jed Foundation's Student Voice of Mental Health Awardee, Pete Conrad Scholar, Apple WWDC22 Scholar, and the youngest Bay Area Inno Under 25 recipient. Additionally, she has been spotlighted in ABC News, Patch, YR Media, Paste Magazine, Mercury News, KTVU Fox 2, NBC Bay Area, Fox 26 Houston, and more.
