About Me

Dr. Cindy H. Liu is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Director of the Developmental Risk and Cultural Resilience Program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. A licensed clinical psychologist, she is the principal investigator of several cohort studies spanning across the lifespan, including the perinatal period and the early adulthood. She is currently leading the BOBA Project (www.thebobaproject.com), a study funded by three NIH grants that examines how teens learn about their Asian identity within their family, their peers, and social media. Her work has been featured in various outlets including the New York Times, USA Today, and NPR. She serves as a scientific advisor to youth mental health initiatives for Surgo Health, The Asian American Foundation, and Manton Foundation. Dr. Liu obtained her doctorate from the University of Oregon and her postdoctoral training at Boston Children's Hospital, McLean Hospital, and Harvard Medical School.
