Speaker's Profile

Don Ramos is the Program Development Director for the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes and the Project Director of the Tribes’ 988 Tribal Response grant. He has been working in the field of Substance Use Disorder, Prevention, and Suicide for over 24 years, with a particular focus on the Native population. For the past seven years, he has been actively involved in suicide awareness and prevention as an Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) facilitator, providing training opportunities in Native communities. Don is a Tribal Citizen of the Comanche Nation and is also a member of the recovery community, with 26 years of recovery. In his personal time, he enjoys being a grandfather to 19 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
