Gary Abernathy leads MMA’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Practice providing guidance for organizations along their DE&I Journey. As the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Practice Lead, Gary strategically collaborates with clients in order to help them establish and implement DE&I into the fabric of their organizations. As a founding member MMA's Enterprise Council, Gary helped to provide thought leadership to assist MMA’s 11,000 Colleagues along their own journey. Gary is a graduate of Northwood University with a Bachelor in Business Administration and also holds a MBA degree from Walsh College. He holds a Certified Diversity Professional (CDP) from the National Diversity Council, Inclusive and Ethical Leadership Certificate, and a DEI in the Workplace Certificate both from the University of South Florida. He was named by Crain’s Detroit Business in 2021 as a Notable DE&I Executive and earned recognition in 2019 as Corp Magazine’s Diversity Business Leader of the Year
