Medical Director for Behavioral Health, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield
Patty Gibson, M.D., is the Medical Director for Behavioral Health at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In this role, Dr. Gibson works to increase access, enhance quality, and develop programs that address mental and behavioral healthcare in the state. In addition to her role at Arkansas Blue Cross, Dr. Gibson is the immediate past President of the Arkansas Psychiatric Society and co-founded the Arkansas Behavioral Health Integration Network (ABHIN), which works to integrate behavioral health into primary care and other medical health settings across Arkansas. Dr. Gibson completed medical school at the University of Mississippi and completed residencies in Anesthesiology, Addiction Medicine, and Psychiatry. She has also completed training in Medical Acupuncture and Functional Medicine. Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Gibson enjoys the outdoors and recently hiked the Camino de Santiago trail in Spain. When she is not exploring nature abroad or at home in the Natural State, she is a proud new grandmother and spends every chance she can get with him and her son and daughter-in-law.
