Dr. Thomas Insel is a psychiatrist and neuroscientist who has been a national leader in research, policy, and technology for mental health. As a former director of the National Institute of Mental Health and a co-founder of several mental health start-ups, Dr. Insel has focused on the importance of innovation for transforming how we diagnose and treat mental disorders. Dr. Insel has served as an advisor to California Governor Gavin Newsom and currently serves the Future of Healthcare Commission for the state of New York. He is the author of Healing: Our Path from Mental Illness to Mental Health (Penguin Random House, 2022).
